Sharmaine Kaye is a fashion designer based in Sydney with a background that blends creativity, technical skill, and curiosity. She began her career in software engineering where she learned structure, problem solving, and programming. Outside of work she kept sketching ideas and experimenting with textiles and silhouettes, gradually realising that clothing was the form that allowed her ideas to take shape.

After moving to Sydney she shifted fully into fashion. She trained in couture under one of Australia’s leading bridal houses where she refined her eye for detail and construction. She later designed across several Australian womenswear brands. These roles strengthened her technical foundations and introduced her to the fast paced nature of commercial design, and product development.

Kaye’s work is defined by contrasts and a sense of playfulness. She explores structure with softness, precision with ease, and modern simplicity with expressive detail. Her pieces often begin with a conceptual idea and evolve through sketching, 3D simulation, and hands on experimentation.

Every piece is created to feel elevated, confident, and quietly expressive. For Kaye fashion is a way of shaping thought into form and building work that feels personal, intentional, and full of character.
